"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

oh i just realized that I've been DA member since 5 years, time really pass quickly ^^ I have to admit that am not an active member, and to be honest DA is a little bit of depressing for me XD i remember when i first joined this community it was different filled with talented artists and motivation but now all these feelings disappeared. but it's ok i have met great friends here and they become part of my life ^^
